Doctor Loses Lawsuit Against Young Girl

Dr. Alexander Dlugi sues a young girl for $162,000 + Pain & Suffering…and loses!

The girl, Ellie (then 11 years old), was skating down the road when she noticed a noise behind her. She turned around and saw the doctor on his bike, waving and hollering at her (kindly) to move out of the way. She, being startled, accidentally stepped into his path. He, failing to brake or simply avoiding her in the opposite direction, collided into her. The doctor lost income because of his injuries, and decided to sue the little girl for the loss and for pain and suffering.

Is this doctor insane or just a doofus? One, pedestrians have the right-of-way (as pointed out in this blog), which means that the kid could’ve just kept skating with no care about you passing her. Second, how was this doctor going to collect money from an 11 year-old girl? Can’t take her house, her car, her assets, because SHE’S ONLY A KID! Third, the parents should have counter-sued for court costs. The school district might’ve also been able sue him as well because the ridiculous lawsuit caused her school a loss of income for 5 days (the days she was in court with this idiot).

  1. “Is this doctor insane or just a doofus?”
    BOTH, and you forgot JACKASS!
This has to be the only explanation for him hollering and waving her out of the way. Even if the bike lost its brakes he could have simply put his feet down or steered around the little girl. Did it occur to anyone during this debacle that the doctor had actually endangered the little girl who could have been badly hurt? I suppose if it had gone that way he would have treated her then demanded payment for services. How did he ever make it through medical school? I’m finding it hard to believe that a court agreed to hear this case. What a great use of taxpayer money in a court system already bogged down with frivolous lawsuits.

I’ve encountered a lot of physicians who have that arrogant god complex thing going on, but this guy takes the prize. Hopefully when he fell off of his bike he hit his head, possibly causing more blood flow to his badly deprived brain.
